Calm Before the Storm

Much like Gilligan, I had anticipated a three hour tour only to find myself stranded with six other castaways. Family life in our house is much like a shipwreck but without the lagoon. This week is a prime example of how things go.

  • Monday, Ashley’s birthday, Mallorie has year book, Tiffany is home sick, Whitney has a field trip and Dakota is wrestling with Dog Dot Com.
  • Tuesday, Ashley has track awards ceremony, Mallorie wants to shop for her birthday, Tiffany turns in library books (which she lost), Whitney visits first grade and Dakota is wrestling with Dog Dot Com.
  • Wednesday, Ashley has camp meeting, Mallorie’s birthday and promotion from Middle School, Tiffany has gymnastics, Whitney has water party at school and Dakota is wrestling with Dog Dot Com.
  • Thursday, Trina has craft meetings, Ashley has to pack for camp, Mallorie has a yearbook party, Tiffany and Whitney have parties at school and Dakota is wrestling with Dog Dot Com.
  • Friday, Ashley leaves for camp, Mallorie has last day of school, Tiffany has last day of school, Whitney has last day of school and Dakota is wrestling with Dog Dot Com.
  • Saturday, Trina and Mallorie leave for camp, Tiffany has gymnastics, the kids and I are attending “Walk Home the Winning Run” and Dakota is wrestling with Dog Dot Com.

By the end of the week I am exhausted. What I wouldn’t give to have the professor here. The man was the zen master of coconut shells. There is nothing he could not accomplish with two coconuts, some bamboo, and dried grass. Well, he could do almost everything except get himself rescued and stop Dakota and Dog Dot Com from fighting.
