The Earth is Round?

With no baseball being played today as the teams all travel to their games and put in a short workout, I am left to ponder the meaning of life. No good can ever come of that as my mind tends to wander to areas it should never be allowed. As I looked at the calendar, I noticed that it is Columbus Day.

This is one of those holidays that I just don't get. This holiday had to have been created by a man. How else can you explain celebrating getting lost and ending up somewhere that you had no idea even existed? The sounds like when Trina sends me to a craft store that I really didn't want to go to in the first place. I end up in an area of town that I have never seen before and for whatever reason, I find a Diamondbacks Team Shop and come home with more Diamondbacks merchandise. Like Columbus, I try to explain that I was doing this for the betterment of the kingdom and that my heart was in the right place. I even went so far as to name my car the Santa Maria in hopes that the queen would understand when I headed out for another adventure. And like those in 1492, Trina too hoped I would find the end of the earth and fall off the edge. I guess it is true, history does repeat itself.
