FanFest is Coming to Town

After what seems like an eternity, baseball fans can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel and this time it is not an oncoming train. The days are slowly getting a little longer and the temperatures are becoming more comfortable. Birds are singing and flowers and trees are starting to awaken from their winter dormancy. This can mean only one thing, BASEBALL SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!
D-backs FanFestFor Arizona Diamondbacks fans, spring always commences with the annual D-backs FanFest. This year FanFest will be held at Chase Field on Saturday February 8, 2014. Today the team announced details around the event, which should appeal to fans of all ages.
Gates to Chase Field will open at 10 AM on February 8th for Diamondbacks Season Ticket Holders while the general public will be able to get in at 11. As in years past there will be autograph sessions with several of the Diamondbacks players and coaching staff.
Autograph sessions can be purchased for $5 each with proceeds benefitting the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation charities. The sessions will be broken up into six time slots: Session A (10:15-11:00) for Season Ticket Holders only; Session B (11:15 – 12:00); Session C (12:15 – 1:00); Session D (1:15 – 2:00); Session E (2:15 – 3:00); and Session F (3:15 – 4:00). Season Ticket Holders will have the first opportunity to purchase autograph session vouchers online from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Thursday February 6rh. All D-backs Insider subscribers will be able to purchase presale vouchers on Friday February 7th from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Autograph session vouchers will go on sale to the general public at 10:00 AM on February 8th. There will also be free vouchers for kids 12 and under during six sessions from 10:15 – 4:15. Vouchers for these sessions will be distributed 15 minutes prior to each respective session in front of the Kids Autograph Area. One parent can accompany each child in line for these special autographs.
Besides autographs there are several other activities for fans to take part in during the festivities. These include:

  • D-backs home clubhouse tours
  • Hitting in batting cages and catching a fly ball on the field
  • Player photo opportunities
  • Question and Answer sessions with D-backs players, coaches, broadcasters, and alumni
  • Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation Yard Sale
  • Sports Card and Memorabilia Show
  • @Dbacks Social Media Zone
  • Family Fun Zone including speed pitch, T-ball, and other interactive inflatables
  • Wiffle ball fields featuring D-backs players, coaches, and staff from the D-backs Baseball Academy
  • Live Sports broadcast on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM throughout the day

FanFest has been a great event to get everyone ready for the beginning of baseball season and has proven to be very popular. Last year over 25,000 fans attended the event and this year the team is expecting even bigger crowds. So mark your calendars and get ready for a great time at the ballpark.
